About ITE and ITEC


iteThe Institute of Technical Education (ITE), Singapore, was established as a post-secondary education institution in 1992 under the Ministry of Education. ITE is a principal provider of career and technical education and key developer of national occupational skills certification and standards to enhance Singapore’s workforce competitiveness. Under its “One ITE System, Three Colleges” Model of Education and Governance, ITE has three Colleges, comprising ITE College Central, ITE College East and ITE College West.

Nitec (National Institute of Technical Education) is a national technical qualification. The certifications that it offers are: Nitec in Services (Hair Fashion & Design) and Nitec in Services – Beauty & Wellness.

Nitec Courses stated are approved by the Committee.


International Therapy Examination Council (ITEC) is an international examination board, operating in over 39 countries, offering a variety of qualifications worldwide.

ITEC has ensured that best practice in the work place has been reflected in the syllabus for each qualification and each has been linked to the relevant job role, as well as ensuring that the syllabus reflects the required level of knowledge and skill needed for a practitioner.

ITEC provides over 35 qualifications that are UK government accredited and are supported by industry and are easily transportable nationally and internationally.

ITEC offers centres and learners high quality regulated qualifications for employability, specialist subjects and skills enhancement.

International Qualifications in hairdressing are available in 3 levels: Level 1 / Entry Level, Level 2 & Level 3.
